Realme X3 Superzoom – Budget Digital Zoom Champion?

Realme X3 Superzoom – Budget Digital Zoom Champion?

On May 25, Realme launched the Realme X3 Super zoom to compete with other superzoom phones such as The Oppo Find X2 and The Samsung Galaxy S20 Pro. The X3 Superzoom comes in at almost a third of the price of the two other competitors. But what features are missing and how does it compare with such a great price gap?

Features

The Realme X3 Superzoom is equipped with a 6.6in 120hz display, a snapdragon 855+. It has a 64MP GW1 lens, an 8MP periscope lens with 5x optical and 60x digital zoom, and a 2MP macro lens. It also has a 32MP front facing camera. Also, inside the phone you’re getting a 4,200MAH battery with 30W fast charge.

How It Compares

Realme X3 Superzoom

  • $575
  • 8MP Periscope lens
  • 4,200MAH
  • 8GB RAM
  • Films 4K @60 FPS

Oppo Find X2

  • $1,320
  • 13MP Periscope lens
  • 4,200MAH
  • 8GB RAM
  • Films 4K @60 FPS
  • 5G Support

Galaxy S20 Ultra

  • $1,400
  • 48MP Periscope Lens
  • 5,000MAH
  • 12GB RAM
  • Films 4K @60 FPS
  • 5G Support

As we can see that even at a third of the price you’re still getting many of the core features you want. Although it could benefit from a few more megapixels on its digital zoom camera, The Snapdragon 865 offers significant improvements over the 855 which The Realme X3 Superzoom features. But at such a great price difference I don’t think there’s a lot to complain about here.

Closing

Although The Realme X3 Superzoom features a slightly older processor and the camera is not on par with its competitors but at such a competitive price point, this phone is a great deal for anyone looking to take scenic shots.
